Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday targeted the government over the rise in the prices of vegetables and alleged that the kitchen budget of the common people has deteriorated, but the government is sleeping like Kumbhkaran.
Rahul Gandhi had visited a vegetable market in Kalkaji area of Delhi. He released a video of this visit on his various social media handles on Tuesday.
The former Congress President posted this video on his YouTube channel and wrote, ‘A few days ago, I reached a local vegetable market and talked to the vendors while shopping with the customers. To know how the budget of the common people is deteriorating and how inflation is troubling everyone. People are struggling with rising prices and are forced to compromise on small items of common need.
He said, ‘We discussed the prices of garlic, peas, mushrooms and other vegetables and heard real experiences of people. How Rs 400 per kg garlic and Rs 120 per kg peas have shaken everyone’s budget. What will people eat and what will they save?
According to her, while talking over tea, she got to know closely about the problems in the life of housewives, how the income has stagnated and inflation is continuously increasing, how saving has become impossible and how just to meet the food expenses, Due to this, it has become difficult to collect even Rs 10 rickshaw fare.
