At these sites, plantation will be done on one acre of land and open gyms, walking tracks etc. will be constructed at the remaining places.
On Prime Minister Modi’s birthday, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath can launch ‘Upvan Yojana’ by planting trees in his parliamentary constituency.
At the same time, Varanasi Municipal Corporation will launch ‘Upvan Yojana’ by planting 148 saplings near Kanchanpur and Sarang pond. Long-lived plants will be planted at both these places.
Municipal Commissioner Akshat Verma said that the Municipal Corporation will launch the ‘Upvan Yojna’ by planting 74 saplings in Kanchanpur Park and 74 big saplings near Sarang pond. Long-lived saplings will be planted at both these places. These will include saplings of neem, banyan, pakkad, peepal etc. Tree-guards will be deployed for the protection of the plants and gardeners will be deployed for their care.
He said that to deal with the dangers of global warming, the government is running a plantation campaign across the state. In Varanasi, a natural oxygen bank is being developed in the middle of the city, so that along with protecting the environment, people can also get pure air. While pollution is increasing in urban areas due to increasing number of vehicles and other reasons, the Yogi government is taking measures to prevent air pollution in such places through ‘Upvan Yojana’.
Work is being done in the state to increase the greenery that has decreased in the cities due to urbanization and development. For this, the government had planted more than 36.51 crore saplings in a single day on July 20.
