Investigative agencies are being misused, court’s comment on CBI is welcome: Supriya Srinet

जांच एजेंसियों का हो रहा दुरुपयोग, सीबीआई को लेकर कोर्ट की टिप्पणी स्वागतयोग्य : सुप्रिया श्रीनेत

New Delhi, Sep 13 (IANS) In the wake of the Supreme Court granting bail to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Congress spokesperson Supriya Shrinate has attacked the government accusing it of misusing investigative agencies.

On Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal getting bail from the Supreme Court on Friday in the liquor policy scam, Supriya Shrinet said that we thank the court for its order. I also welcome the comment made by the Supreme Court regarding the CBI. The court should also intervene in all those cases where people are in jail without trial because PM Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah do not like their faces.

In fact, while granting bail to CM Kejriwal, Justice Bhuiyan said, “The CBI has to come out of the image of a caged parrot and show that it is no longer a caged parrot. The CBI should be seen as impartial and every effort should be made to ensure that arrests are not made arbitrarily. Perception matters in the country and the CBI should get rid of the caged parrot image and show that it is a parrot out of the cage.”

While accusing Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Supriya Srinet said that a businessman in Tamil Nadu lodged a complaint regarding GST in front of Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in Coimbatore. After this, his video was recorded and he was forced to apologize. BJP shared that video from its official handle. Is this not misuse? Is this not intimidating people? The government is misusing CBI, ED and Income Tax. It is intimidating and threatening people.

In fact, Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) convenor Arvind Kejriwal got bail from the Supreme Court on Friday in the liquor policy scam. A bench of Justice Suryakant and Justice Ujjwal Bhuinya granted him bail.

However, the court has also imposed certain conditions on CM Kejriwal along with a bond of Rs 10 lakh each. In its verdict, the apex court said that “the conditions will be decided by the trial court”.

Justice Ujjwal Bhuiyan raised serious questions on the timing of the arrest by the CBI and termed the “belated arrest” by the central agency as unjustified.
