Tehran, 1 June (IANS). The Iranian President Masood Pipeskian is preparing to propose the name of Economics Professor Ali Madanijadeh before the Parliament for the post of Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance Department. This has been said in local media reports.
The Meher News Agency of Iran said that if Madnezadeh gets success in getting a trust vote from Majlis, he would replace Abdolnasar Hemmati, which was impered by 2 March.
Former Central Bank Governor Hemmati was accused of failure to failure the country’s terrible inflation situation and the rapid decline in the price of Iranian riyal. About two-thirds of the Majlis members present during the impeachment polling supported the proposal to remove him. He took over six months ago in a restricted country.
After his removal, Rahmatullah was an unknown acting economy minister, but President Pageshkian has not proposed him to the post.
Madneezadeh Sharif is a professor of economics at the University of Technology.
During his school years, he won a gold medal at the Iranian Mathematics Olympiad and a bronze medal at the International Mathematics Olympiad. According to Iranian media, he has completed post -graduation in the universities of Sharif, Stanford and Chicago.
