Shimla, Aug 30 (IANS) The monsoon session is underway in the Himachal Pradesh Assembly. On the fourth day of the session on Friday, there was an uproar over the Speaker’s remarks. Former Himachal Pradesh CM Jairam Thakur spoke to the media on this issue after coming out of the House.
He said that the BJP Legislature Party walked out of the House when the Chief Minister and the Revenue Minister did not answer the questions during the Question Hour. Accusing the present government, he said that the previous government had made a provision of Rs 300 crore to build a horticulture college in Thunag of Seraj Assembly constituency, but the present government does not want to build the college and is planning to shift it to some other place. Thakur said, instead of answering the question, the Revenue Minister was talking irrelevant things and the Chief Minister also did not have a satisfactory answer. The Congress government has discriminated against Mandi district and closed the institutions as soon as it came to power. Mandi Shiv Dham, Sardar Patel University were closed and now the government is working to close the horticulture college as well, which is not acceptable.
Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur raised the issue of drones flying near his residence under a point of order in the House on Friday. He said that I am being monitored. Shimla SP is violating my privacy. Who is coming and going to the Leader of Opposition’s house is being monitored. Phones are being tapped, which is not the right way.
While warning the officers, Jairam Thakur said that the officers are crossing their limits, which is not right. Time keeps changing, governments keep coming and going, but the officers have to work within limits. My privacy is being violated.
