Jammu and Kashmir CM Abdullah's big statement, said- Congress is not a part of our government. News Track in Hindi

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah created a sensation on Friday when he said in a statement that the Congress party is not a part of the National Conference-led government in Jammu and Kashmir. The Congress party is supporting the government from outside. He said this in a press conference regarding the cabinet meeting of the state government. Let us tell you, both the parties had contested the assembly elections together. In which National Conference won 42 seats and Congress won 6 seats in the 90-seat assembly.

Congress had refused to join the government

If reports are to be believed, the Congress party was demanding two ministerial posts in the Omar Abdullah-led government. But the National Conference agreed to give only one ministerial post. After which, as a strategy to put pressure on the allies, the Congress Party had decided to support the government from outside.

CM spoke about the restoration of Article 370

Regarding the restoration of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said that with the formation of the government, he is trying to give full status to the state. On people’s demand on Article 370, he said, ‘We cannot fulfill what some people want because Jammu and Kashmir is a Union Territory.

Elections were held in Jammu and Kashmir after 10 years

The last assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir were held in 2014. No party could gather majority on its own in the elections. PDP emerged as the largest party, winning 28 seats, while BJP came second, winning 25 seats, while National Conference won 15 and Congress 12 seats. After which BJP-PDP had formed a joint government but due to differences, the government fell in 2018 after BJP withdrew its support.
