Srinagar, September 14 (IANS) Security forces on Saturday killed three terrorists in an encounter in Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir. Police said that three terrorists were killed in an encounter in Chak Tappar Kreeri area of ​​Pattan tehsil of Baramulla district.

“An encounter broke out between security forces and militants in the Chak Tapper Kreeri area of ​​Baramulla district late Friday evening,” police said.

He said, “The operation was suspended last night due to poor light. The operation was resumed this morning and three terrorists were killed in the encounter.”

“The search operation in the area is still underway. The exact identity of the killed terrorists and their organisation is being ascertained,” officials said.

Meanwhile, counter-terrorism operation is still underway in Chatroo village of Kishtwar district of Jammu division, where two Army personnel were killed and two others injured in an encounter with a group of militants on Friday.

Let us tell you that eight assembly seats spread across Doda, Kishtwar and Ramban districts of Chenab Valley region as well as 16 seats in Anantnag, Pulwama, Shopian and Kulgam districts of South Kashmir will go to polls in the first phase on September 18. Jammu, Kathua and Samba districts will go to polls in the second and third phases of Jammu and Kashmir elections on September 25 and October 1.

The hilly districts of Jammu division Poonch, Rajouri, Doda, Kathua, Reasi and Udhampur have witnessed terror attacks on the army, security forces and civilians for more than two months now. The terrorists launch a surprise attack by laying ambushes and then disappear into the forests of the hilly areas.

A group of foreign terrorists is being blamed for these attacks. These terrorists are 40 to 50 in number. After this report came, the army has deployed more than 4,000 trained soldiers, including elite para commandos and soldiers trained in mountain warfare, in the densely forested areas of those districts.
