Jammu News Desk !!! There have been many changes in the politics of Jammu and Kashmir, but Jammu, its people and their problems have been ignored for years. Now the people of Jammu are seeing a new dawn of hope with the BJP manifesto prepared under the leadership of Narendra Modi. Many important schemes have been introduced in this manifesto for the poor, farmers, women and youth, which can change the direction of development of Jammu.

Various communities of Jammu, especially Hindus, have expressed happiness over the promises made in the BJP manifesto. It is also important that the people of Jammu feel that they have been neglected for years. They have hope from the BJP that their time has come. Let’s know what the people of Jammu think about these promises and how these can affect their lives.

Rekha Devi, a 55-year-old housewife from RS Pura, says, “The BJP has planned a financial assistance of Rs 18,000 for elderly women. Previous governments never paid attention to our needs, but now we are relieved that we will get help.” According to the BJP manifesto, the senior woman in every household will be given financial assistance of ₹18,000 annually under the ‘Maa Samman Yojana’, which will provide financial security to elderly women. Sushila Devi, 62, from Udhampur also appreciated the similar support. She says, “For us, this scheme has brought a new hope. Earlier we did not get any benefits from government schemes, but now we are confident that our needs will be met.”

Bhaderwah youth Sameer Sharma, who is preparing for UPSC, told about the BJP’s plan. “The BJP has said that they will pay the coaching fees and give laptops to the students. This is really a big change. Previous governments never made any concrete plans for students like us, but now we are confident about our future.” According to the BJP manifesto, students will be helped with coaching fees and travel expenses by making the recruitment processes transparent, which will open up new career opportunities for the youth. Priya, a college student from Kathua, is also happy with this scheme. “Under the Pragati Shiksha Yojana, we will get travel allowance and this will help. Now we will not have any problem in studies.”

The BJP manifesto promises to give a travel allowance of ₹3,000 to students under the ‘Pragati Shiksha Yojana’, which will help students from remote areas in their studies. Jammu farmer Balram Singh expressed happiness over the additional assistance of Rs 10,000 under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi. “We have benefited a lot from this scheme. Earlier there was no solid support for farmers, but now our crops will get better prices and the cost of farming will also be reduced.” Also read: Have 6 separatists and terrorist organizations disappeared? After the uproar over Burhan Wani’s death, the BJP in its manifesto has promised to give an additional ₹4,000 to farmers under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi, which will strengthen the economic condition of the farmers and also reduce the cost of farming. Jagdish Singh, a farmer from Rajouri, told about the electricity subsidy. “Getting a 50% discount on electricity bill is a big change. We were waiting for this for many years. Now we will get financial relief and our position will be strengthened.” The BJP manifesto includes a plan to reduce electricity rates for agricultural activities by up to 50%, which will provide relief to farmers in power costs.

Subhash Chandra, a resident of Jammu, shared his views on BJP’s health schemes. “Increasing the health coverage under Ayushman Bharat Yojana to ₹7 lakh will prove to be a boon for poor families like us. Earlier we had to face a lot of difficulties in getting treatment, but now we hope that treatment will be cheaper and easier.” The BJP manifesto announces increasing the scope of Ayushman Bharat Yojana from Rs 5 lakh to Rs 7 lakh, which will make the benefits of health services reach more people. It will provide better opportunities to students of our region in the medical field.” The BJP in its manifesto has promised to add 1,000 new seats in existing and upcoming government medical colleges, which will make medical education more accessible. Various communities of Jammu have viewed the BJP manifesto positively. Locals believe that this manifesto will provide a new direction to the development and welfare of Jammu. Be it tourism, farmers’ welfare, or improvement in health services – in every sector the BJP has announced big schemes, giving the people of Jammu hope for a bright future.
