Jhansi Medical College Fire: 10 children have died in a massive fire at Jhansi Medical College in Uttar Pradesh. Samajwadi Party chief and former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav expressed grief over this matter and raised questions on the medical system and strongly attacked CM Yogi Adityanath. He has directly blamed the negligence of medical management and administration for the incident.
Former CM Akhilesh Yadav posted a post on his social media account and wrote, the news of death of 10 children and injury of many children due to fire in Jhansi Medical College is very sad and worrying. Emotional tribute to everyone. He said that the cause of the fire is being said to be fire in the ‘oxygen concentrator’. This is either a direct case of negligence of medical management and administration or of poor quality oxygen concentrator. Punitive action should be taken against all those responsible in this case. Chief Minister should leave the election campaign and ‘false claims of everything being fine’ and focus on the poor condition of health and medicine. Only those families who have lost their children can understand their pain. This is not only a government but also a moral responsibility.
He further wrote, I hope that in this hour of family crisis, those doing electoral politics will get a true investigation done and will make radical changes in their so-called Health and Medical Ministry from top to bottom. As far as the ‘Health and Medical Minister’ of Uttar Pradesh is concerned, there is nothing to say about him because it is because of him that the health and medical system in Uttar Pradesh is in such a bad state today. Engaged in making low level comments about narrow-communal politics, the Minister may not even remember that he is the ‘Health and Medical Minister’. He has neither any power nor will, just a plaque with his name on it.
He said that first of all the Uttar Pradesh BJP government should provide world class medical facilities for all the burnt children and should give a condolence amount of Rs 1 crore each to all the bereaved families who have lost their children. Gorakhpur should not be repeated.
