Jharkhand Election 2024: The bugle of assembly elections has been sounded in Jharkhand. Bharatiya Janata Party has released the first list of its candidates on Saturday. Names of 66 candidates have been announced in this list. BJP state president Babulal Marandi has been given ticket from Dhanwar. Whereas, former CM Champai Soren has been made candidate from Seraikela and his son Babulal Soren from Ghatshila (reserved) seat.

Bharatiya Janata Party will contest 68 seats in the 81-member assembly in Jharkhand, leaving the remaining seats for NDA alliance partners. BJP released the list of 66 candidates on Saturday, while it has not announced its candidates on two seats. In this list, BJP has given tickets to 11 women out of 66. Along with this, names of many prominent leaders are also included.

Tickets given to these big faces

Bharatiya Janata Party has given ticket to Sita Soren, elder daughter-in-law of former Jharkhand CM Shibu Soren and sister-in-law of CM Hemant Soren, from Jamtara. Apart from this, Meera Munda, wife of former Union Minister Arjun Munda, has been fielded from Potka (reserved). Purnima Das, daughter-in-law of former Chief Minister and Governor of Odisha Raghubar Das, has been given ticket from Jamshedpur East. Former CM Champai Soren and his son Babulal Soren have also been given a chance, they have been fielded from Seraikela and Ghatshila (reserved) seats respectively.

Voting will be held in two phases

Let us tell you that NDA had announced the seat sharing formula among its allies on Friday. Here BJP will contest on 68 seats, AJSU on 10 seats, while JD (U) will contest on two seats and LJP (Ram Vilas) on one seat. Voting will be held here for the 81-member Jharkhand Assembly in two phases on November 13 and 20, while the counting of votes will take place on November 23.
