Babulal Marandi of Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (Prajatantrik) has won the Dhanwar assembly seat. He defeated BJP’s Laxman Prasad Singh by a margin of 17,550 votes. In the Jharkhand assembly elections, Babulal Marandi got 52,352 votes while Laxman Prasad Singh got 34,802 votes in Sisai seat. After the last phase of polling in Jharkhand Assembly Elections 2019, counting of votes began at 8 am on 23 December in Sisai assembly seat.
A total of 14 candidates including BJP, JVM, JMM, BSP, CPI ML and SP candidates have contested the elections from Dhanwar assembly constituency.
