After the last phase of voting in Jharkhand Assembly Elections 2019, in the counting of votes held today i.e. on 23 December, Amba Prasad of Congress won from Barkagaon Assembly seat. Amba Prasad defeated Roshan Lal Chaudhary of AJSU by 31514 votes. In 2014, Nirmala Devi of Congress had won from this seat. A close contest was seen between AJSU Party and Congress. Nirmala Devi had won from here by just 411 votes.
