JPC report presented on Waqf Bill in Rajya Sabha, opposition accused of bias

New Delhi, 13 February (IANS). The Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) report was presented in the Rajya Sabha on Thursday, after which the opposition parties created a ruckus protesting. The Congress termed the report as unilateral and said that our disagreement was not given a place in the report. Opposition MPs say that our decent note was not kept in the report.

Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge called JPC report as fake and said that he would not accept this report. He termed this report as unconstitutional and alokanthic. He claimed that the opinion of the MPs has been suppressed and the non -stake holders are calling from outside and taking their stake. Kharge demanded that the report be sent back to JPC.

TMC MP Kalyan Banerjee also alleged that this report of JPC did not include our disagreement comments.

At the same time, Kiren Rijiju dismissed all the allegations of the opposition and called him wrong. Rijiju said that the opposition’s disagreement is also recorded in the report.

Earlier, JPC Chairman Jagdambika Pal while talking to IANS said that some of our members are saying that our disagreement is, our words were not heard. But we kept listening to them continuously for six months. We voted for the amendments he suggested, which is the process of Parliament. Any law can be agreed and disagree, can also be on a report. The way for this is that it is voted on it. We voted for everyone, who was in majority, adopted it and denied what was in minority.

He further said that even after this, after the approval of the report, I sought a note of disagreement from him, and the disagreement that he gave in the report has included it in the report. Also, we are also keeping the things we have met with JPC.
