The election of the new BJP president is constantly postponing. It is now reported that JP Nadda’s option can be decided only by August. The month of June has passed around half and presidents of big states like UP, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, Maharashtra have not been elected. In such a situation, the BJP will take a decision on the national president only after the president of these states is decided. It is believed that the state presidents will be elected by July and only then the national president can be decided. According to the Constitution of the BJP, for the election of the national president, the election of state presidents of the country must be held.
Apart from this, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh is yet to be consulted. The party leadership wants the president to be elected only with the consent of the Sangh. This is because the RSS would like that a leader of his background becomes the president. The leadership of the BJP and the Sangh often does not want to give importance to any outsider on the posts ranging from the state president to the national president. The party leadership feels that the organization should be commanded by ideologically strong people. This is the reason why most of the people whose names are coming in the race of the national president, either have been in the Sangh or Khanty in the BJP.
At present, it is believed that the BJP will contest the Bihar assembly elections under the leadership of the new president. Assembly elections in Bihar are to be held in October or November. There was never such a delay in the election of the BJP president, but things were postponed due to the first Lok Sabha elections and then the assembly elections in states like Maharashtra and Haryana. Now the state presidents are being elected and then the national president will be churned. However, when Amit Shah was commanded in 2014-15, he did not get much time. Then when JP Nadda was made the chairman in 2020, this process was not long.
Actually, it is not very easy for the BJP to choose the president of states like UP, MP and Maharashtra. Amid efforts to polarize OBC votes, BJP will also want to get a chance to a backward leader in UP. If Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is Rajput, then the command of the organization can be given to an OBC leader. At the same time, if the CM is from backward caste in Madhya Pradesh, then the command of the organization can be given to a upper caste leader. Explain that the RSS is open that the BJP should strengthen the organization because the 2024 election results are a danger bell for it. Significantly, JP Nadda’s term is ending in 2023, but since then he has been increasing it. The names that are being mentioned in the race at present include leaders like Shivraj Singh Chauhan, Bhupendra Yadav, Sunil Bansal and Manohar Lal Khattar. Apart from this, Zee Kishan Reddy from South is also in discussion.
