Kailash Gehlot: The ruling Aam Aadmi Party in Delhi has suffered a severe blow due to the sudden resignation of senior leader Kailash Gehlot. A day after leaving the post of minister and resigning from the party, he has joined the BJP. In the letter written to Aam Aadmi Party chief Kejriwal, Gehlot had raised many issues including the cleaning of Yamuna and his Sheeshmahal.
On the occasion of taking membership of BJP, Gehlot has said that he has not decided to join BJP under any pressure. However, many other reasons are believed to be behind Gehlot’s resignation. He was feeling angry inside for a long time. However, being a smart leader, he did not let the party know of his displeasure. By resigning suddenly he has given a huge blow to the party.
Kejriwal’s trust in Gehlot had decreased
Gehlot’s resignation is being considered a big blow for AAP because these days the party is busy preparing for Delhi Assembly elections. Kejriwal is busy holding continuous meetings for the assembly elections to be held early next year. Organization of worker conferences has started at Mandal, District and Booth level.
At the time of joining BJP, Kailash Gehlot said that he had not taken the decision to leave AAP overnight. Those who follow AAP closely say that this statement of Gehlot is true to a large extent because in recent months his position in the party was not the same as before. He remained a confidant of Kejriwal for a long time but in recent months he was not feeling comfortable in the party. Even Kejriwal no longer had the same trust in him as before.
First snatch the ministry and then there is no chance to become CM.
At the time of his arrest in the Delhi liquor scam, Arvind Kejriwal had a lot of confidence in Gehlot. After the resignation of Manish Sisodia and Satyendar Jain, Kejriwal expressed confidence in Gehlot and handed over finance and many other important ministries to him. As Finance Minister, he also presented the budget of Delhi Government. He was considered the most powerful minister of the Delhi government, but the situation completely changed in June. Kejriwal took back many key ministries including finance and revenue from Gehlot and handed them over to Atishi.
Gehlot was internally very angry with this step of Kejriwal. However, he did not let anyone know about it. This created a huge sourness in their relationship. After this, Kejriwal took such a step, which was no less than a shock for Gehlot. After Kejriwal’s resignation, Gehlot was also considered a contender for the post of Chief Minister, but Kejriwal completed the right task by making Atishi the Chief Minister.
You didn’t like tuning with LG?
Gehlot’s good relationship with Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena also irked AAP leaders. After August 15, Kejriwal’s trust in Gehlot had further reduced. In fact, Kejriwal had written a letter to the LG from jail requesting that Atishi be given a chance to hoist the tricolor on August 15. LG had rejected this demand of Kejriwal and asked Gehlot to hoist the tricolor.
AAP leaders have always been at loggerheads with the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, but they had a good tuning with Gehlot. This thing also always troubled the big leaders of AAP. Experts say that the trust of AAP leaders towards Gehlot had also decreased due to this, which resulted in the resignation of Gehlot.
