BJP MP Kangana Ranaut on Sunday alleged that the Himachal Pradesh government was taking loans and giving them to former Congress president Sonia Gandhi, leaving the state’s treasury “hollowed out”. She wondered how the party spends “so much” on elections.
Addressing people after launching the BJP membership drive in a village in Shimla, the actress-turned-politician said, “Everyone knows that corruption is rampant and Congress-ruled state governments have hollowed out their respective states.”
Attacking the Congress government led by Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, she said, “They take loans and give it to Sonia Gandhi, which has hollowed out the state.” “Disasters and the Congress government have pushed the state back by decades. I will appeal to the people to oust the current government,” Ranaut alleged.
She said, “If we give disaster fund, it should go to the CM relief fund, but everyone knows it goes to the Sonia relief fund.” Ranaut said, “Disasters and the Congress government have pushed the state back by decades and I will appeal to the people to oust the current government.”
She alleged, “If we give the disaster fund, it goes to the CM relief fund, but everyone knows that from there it goes to the Sonia relief fund.” Taking a dig at Public Works Minister Vikramaditya Singh, who recently contested against her, Kangana said, “The actions of Raja’s son are known to everyone and people are fed up with potholes on the roads.”
“I will do as much as I can for my constituency, but the PWD minister should also do something,” she said. “If we have to save the country, we have to bring BJP,” she said, and urged people to participate in the BJP campaign in large numbers and become members of the party. She said Prime Minister Narendra Modi is a ‘yug purush’ and deals with situations at a micro level.
He said the poor condition of Himachal Pradesh, where salaries and pensions are delayed and consumers are deprived of free electricity and water facilities, is not hidden from the rest of the country.
Claiming that sports facilities in primary schools are being shut down, he said, “The base of sportsmen and players is formed at an early age and it seems there is a conspiracy to ruin Himachal.” He said, “The state government is trying to ruin the future of children but it will be my aim to open a big sports centre in Mandi constituency and priority will be given to children who start sports at an early age in this sports complex.”
