Karnataka News Desk!!! Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s troubles are going to increase in the MUDA land scam case. In this sequence, on Tuesday, the Karnataka High Court has rejected CM Siddaramaiah’s petition. Along with this, as per the order given by the Governor, now an inquiry will be conducted against Siddaramaiah. Actually, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had knocked the door of the High Court against the Governor’s approval of the inquiry against him. On his petition, the bench of Justice Nagaprasanna said in its decision that the order of approval of prosecution is not affected by the use of discretion of the Governor.
Siddaramaiah questioned the legality of allowing investigation against him under Section 17A of the Prevention of Corruption Act and prosecution under Section 218 of the Indian Civil Security Code, 2023. Specifically, the MUDA site allocation case alleges that sites in a high-value area of Mysuru were wrongly allotted to Siddaramaiah’s wife BM Parvathi. On August 16, the state governor ordered complainants Pradeep Kumar S.P., T.J. Abraham and Snehamayi Krishna’s petitions for detailed alleged offences to be allowed under Section 17A of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 and Section 218 of the Indian Civil Security Code, 2023.
MUDA corruption It is worth noting that MUDA is a state level development agency, which is responsible for the development of urban and quality infrastructure. In this scheme called 50:50, those who lost their land were entitled to 50 percent of the developed land. This scheme was discontinued in 2020 during the tenure of BJP. It is worth noting that this scheme was implemented in 2009 itself.
