A big statement of Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivkumar has come out in the midst of the ongoing political philanthropist in Karnataka. After this statement, the speculation of leadership change in the state has come to an end. He said that he does not want any recommendation from anyone for any post.
There were reports of dispute between the Chief Minister and the Deputy Chief Minister for several days in Karnataka. However, after Shivkumar’s statement, it is expected that the ongoing discussions in the political corridors will calm down at the moment.
He asked the Congress leaders to focus on the preparations for the upcoming assembly elections. Shivkumar said, “I do not want any recommendation from any MLA. My job is to further strengthen discipline within the party.”
In the year 2023, the Congress came to power in Karnataka, but since then the bickering of its inner has been coming out in the media from time to time. The election was fought under the leadership of DK Shivkumar, although the party did not formally announce it. After winning the election, the Congress high command had made Siddaramaiah the Chief Minister in place of Shivkumar. It is believed that there has been a difference of opinion between the two leaders since then.
This time this issue became more vigorous because not only the media, the party leaders also started making open comments on it. Recently, Congress MLA Iqbal Ahmed had said that DK Shivkumar should become the Chief Minister. He has done a lot for the party. There are more than 100 MLAs like me, not only me in his favor.
Earlier yesterday, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge had said that the high command will decide whether the leadership will change in Karnataka. On which the BJP had taunted and asked that if the Congress President is not a high command, then who is? Who is this that neither looks, nor heard… just feels.
