Bengaluru, Sep 2 (IANS) Karnataka Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot has sought an explanation from Chief Secretary Shalini Rajneesh on a complaint against Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge’s family members over alleged illegal land allotment.
The complaint was made by Leader of Opposition (LoP) in the Legislative Council Chalavadi Narayanaswamy.
Criticising the governor, minister Priyank Kharge on Monday said, “The governor has two constitutions. One is for the BJP and JD(S) and the other is for the Congress.
He said why no one is raising this issue except the Leader of Opposition in Legislative Council Chalavadi Narayanaswamy. BJP State President B.Y. Vijayendra, Leader of Opposition in Legislative Assembly R. Ashok are silent on this issue.
BJP and RSS organisations are conspiring to make Dalits fight among themselves and create animosity. Whenever a complaint is made against Congress leaders, action is taken on it at lightning speed.
Let us tell you that Karnataka BJP had attacked Mallikarjun Kharge and his son Priyank Kharge over the alleged illegal allotment of five acres of land by the Siddaramaiah government in the Aerospace Park in Bengaluru. BJP said, this is injustice to the Dalits by the Kharge family.
Leader of Opposition (LoP) in Legislative Council Chalavadi Narayanaswamy had said, the Kharge family is playing politics on the land that is meant for Dalits and Dalits are being denied their due share. He also released a series of documents in this regard.
He said, Karnataka Industrial Area Development Board (KIADB) took lakhs of rupees from 72 dalit organisations and allotted land only to Kharge family. He also criticised the government for hastily approving land for Kharge family within just 20 days.
“This is one of the biggest blunders in the history of Karnataka Industrial Area Development Board (KIADB),” he said.
Narayanaswamy further alleged that the rules were changed, and commercial plots were hastily allotted without public auction. If it was for commercial purposes, the base price should have been Rs 2.5 crore per acre, and at double the rate, it should have been auctioned at a base rate of Rs 5 crore. This could have fetched Rs 10 crore to Rs 15 crore.
