New Delhi, September 13 (IANS). The Supreme Court on Friday granted bail to Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in the much-discussed alleged liquor policy scam of Delhi. He will come out of jail today itself. After which he will interact with the common people.
Speaking to IANS on this decision of the Supreme Court, Congress Secretary Alok Sharma said, “Bail is a part of the judicial process in any case. The Congress Party considers it a part of the judicial process. The way Kejriwal has got conditional bail today and the way the court has commented on the CBI is a slap on the Home Ministry. The way the Supreme Court described the CBI as a parrot in a cage. We want to know whether this is not conditional bail. Has he got a clean chit? All these things should now be decided by the BJP and the Aam Aadmi Party among themselves.”
He further said, “We respect the court. We welcome the decision that has come. But the Home Ministry should respond to the comments made about the CBI. I want that action should be taken in this case as soon as possible. The decision should come as soon as possible and the truth should come out. The ED director remained on that post for five years in an unethical manner. The Supreme Court has given its decision on this too, it has not commented, it has decided to remove him. The Supreme Court’s decision has come today on the CBI, tomorrow it will come on someone else. This completely proves our point that investigation agencies are being misused.”
Let us tell you that Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal has got bail from the Supreme Court in the case of the alleged liquor policy scam. Before getting bail, he will have to submit two sureties of Rs 10 lakh each in the court. Apart from this, the Supreme Court has banned making public comments regarding this case. The Supreme Court has said that Kejriwal should cooperate in the case. Kejriwal has already got bail in the CBI case as well. While hearing the Kejriwal case, both the judges have given different views.
