In Varanasi, the Ganges is flowing close to the danger mark. 85 ghats and more than 2000 temples in Varanasi are submerged in water.

The water level of the Jirayan river in Nalanda has also increased. There is a flood-like situation in Birbhum, Howrah, Hooghly, North 24 Parganas, East and West Medinipur and Bankura in West Bengal.
