Lal Krishna Advani (English: Lal Krishna Advani, born: November 8, 1927, Karachi (in present-day Pakistan)) is a senior leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party and former Deputy Prime Minister of India. He was instrumental in making the Bharatiya Janata Party a major party in Indian politics. His contribution can be said to be paramount. Advani has been appointed Union Home Minister twice (1998 and 1999) in the Bharatiya Janata Party led coalition government. Virtually non-existent on the political map of India in the early 1980s, this party has emerged as one of the strongest political forces in India.

life introduction

Lal Krishna Advani was born on November 8, 1927 in Karachi, Pakistan. His father Shri K. D. Advani and mother’s name was Giani Advani. Advani came to India after partition. Lal Krishna Advani had his early education in Lahore but later after coming to India, he obtained graduation in law from Government Law College, Mumbai. When Lal Krishna Advani was studying at St. Patrick’s School, his patriotic thoughts inspired him to join the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (R.S.S.) at the age of only 14. Since then he has dedicated his entire life to the service of the nation. Today he is a big name in Indian politics.

On February 25, 1965, he accepted ‘Kamala Advani’ as his better half. Like Lal Krishna Advani’s family, Kamlaji’s family also migrated from Karachi after the partition of the country. Kamala ji also had to live a difficult life like a common citizen. He worked in the General Post Office of Delhi and Mumbai for about 17 years.

Lal Krishna Advani has two children, a son Jayant and a daughter Pratibha, both are living their professional lives. Jayant runs a small business in Delhi. He is very fond of cricket. Pratibha is a famous T.V. Have personality. Anchors and presents programs broadcast on many channels. He T.V. Has achieved expertise in preparing content based programs based on Hindi cinema for channels. In these programs, prominent place has been given to the festivals of Ram, Krishna, Shiva, Ganesh and Hanuman and in Hindi cinema, the festivals of Holi, Deepawali and Rakhi. Pratibha has also made a film on ‘Vande Mataram’ in Hindi cinema. These programs have been widely appreciated for effectively presenting cultural and patriotic values. Films made on Shri Advani ji’s Golden Jubilee Rath Yatra (1997) and Bharat Suraksha Yatra (2006) are also included in Pratibha’s works.

political life

After completing his early schooling in Karachi, Advani took admission in Bombay University to study law. He joined the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh and after the partition of the country, he took charge of the organization’s activities in Rajasthan. When Dr. Syama Prasad Mukherjee founded the Jan Sangh (the predecessor of the Bharatiya Janata Party) in 1951, Advani became the secretary of the Rajasthan unit of the party. Later he moved to Delhi and was appointed secretary of the Delhi unit of Jan Sangh.

In 1970, he became a member of the Rajya Sabha and remained on this post till 1989. In 1973, he was elected President of Bharatiya Jana Sangh and he led the party till 1977. He left the post of party president after being appointed Minister of Information and Broadcasting in the Janata Party-led coalition government of Morarji Desai. During his tenure as minister, he ended press censorship, repealed anti-press laws enacted during the Emergency, and initiated reforms to protect media freedom. He introduced the Prasar Bharati (Broadcasting Corporation of India) Bill in Parliament, which had a provision to provide autonomy to Doordarshan and Radio.
Formation of Bharatiya Janata Party
The fall of the Morarji Desai government resulted in the split of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh. Under the leadership of Advani and Atal Bihari Vajpayee, a large number of people from the Bharatiya Jana Sangh formed a political party, the Bharatiya Janata Party, in 1980. In the initial years, the Bharatiya Janata Party got nominal public support and in the 1984 parliamentary elections it could win only two seats in the Lok Sabha. To popularize the party and make the public aware of its programme, Advani conducted several Rath Yatras (political campaigns) across the country in the 1990s. The first of these journeys focused on Lord Rama, who is highly revered by Hindus.

trips

Ram Rath Yatra started from Somnath on September 25, 1990, on the birthday of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay ji and covered a distance of 10,000 km. After the journey, it was concluded in Ayodhya on 30 October. The simple message of the yatra was to awaken the feeling of unity and cultural nationalism among the people, to increase mutual understanding and to make the people understand about the government’s politics of appeasement and minorityism. This Yatra was an unprecedented success and had never achieved such popularity as a political rallying point. This journey drew people’s attention to the comparison between the people’s power displayed by the people and the royal power displayed by the rulers of Delhi.

Shri Advani provided leadership in mobilizing public opinion against the draconian, anti-democratic and anti-people measures. Shri Advani planned to launch a yatra from all four directions of the country under the leadership of senior party leaders. The pseudo-secularists wanted to achieve four main objectives through these bills.

Distorting the original plan of elections and allowing previously authorized disqualifications. Providing constitutional legitimacy to banned organisations. To make a nation which respects all religions equally, irreligious. To allow de-registration of political parties.

The four yatras started from all four directions of the country on 11 September 1993, the birthday of Swami Vivekananda. Mr Advani had led the march from Mysore. Shri Bhairo Singh Shekhawat from Jammu; Murli Manohar Joshi started the journey from Porbandar and Shri Kalyan Singh from Calcutta. Yatris traveling from 14 states and 2 union territories gathered in Bhopal on 25 September in a large rally. The Janadesh Yatra was also a tremendous success.
