Lalu Yadav Birthday 2025: In Patna’s hot afternoon, there was an atmosphere of celebration suddenly. When the ‘funny player’ of Bihar politics and RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav cut the 78 kg laddu cake on his 78th birthday, the flash of cameras glowed everywhere. But this time the matter did not stop even the birthday party. The style of cutting the cake with the sword and Lalu Yadav’s leg placed on the table converted this celebration into a new political storm. There was a huge crowd of RJD supporters on the occasion of birthday at Lalu Yadav’s residence. The atmosphere of celebration was as if a victory festival was being celebrated. To make this occasion memorable, supporters prepared a huge 78 kg huge laddus cake. And then as soon as the sword was removed from the kiosks and he came in Lalu Yadav’s hand, the whole atmosphere resonated with the applause. When Lalu Yadav cut the cake with that sword, his supporters started shouting. The video clearly showed that while cutting the cake, Lalu’s leg was on the table and the same old Lalu Yadav smile was floating on his face.
The behavior of those who divide the society by giving oil in sticks cannot change.
“When you are not in government today, Saheb is cutting cake with a sword, if the betwa is made by mistake, then the cake will be flown from AK-47”
Isn’t it Lalu ji.
Well birthday congratulations @laluprasadrjd Yes. pic.twitter.com/iopgc6dknu– Jitan Ram Manjhi (@jitanrmanjhi) June 11, 2025
Manjhi tweeted
But the voice of protest is also ready behind every celebration in politics. This video gave the opponents a chance to speak on social media, spreading like a fire. In Bihar politics, Lalu Yadav is famous for his tricks as much as his personality. And this time this opportunity was raised by Union Minister and Hum Party’s patron Jeetan Ram Manjhi. Manjhi tweeted and said-“When not in the government today, Saheb is cutting the cake with a sword, accidentally became something, the cake will be flown from AK-47. Well, Lalu Prasad Yadav ji’s birthday congratulations.” Manjhi’s stance was clear that this style of Lalu Yadav is reminiscent of ‘Dabangai’ and old era in politics, when in Bihar politics, there used to be sticks, guns and muscle power in Bihar politics. Manjhi directly targeted Lalu by reminding the old statements of Lalu Yadav, who ‘lathi in the sticks’, that the time has changed but Lalu’s habits have not changed.
Lalu Yadav’s life is full of controversies
Lalu Prasad Yadav has a different place in Bihar politics. Born on 11 June 1948 in Phulwaria village in Gopalganj district, the entire journey of Lalu has been full of struggles and controversies. Lalu, who started his student politics while studying at Patna University, prepared a new political land for himself by participating in the JP movement.
This has been a political career
Lalu, who reached Parliament in 1977 in 1977, became the Chief Minister of Bihar in 1990 and did not look back. Lalu molded the politics of Bihar in a new form through caste equations and remained at the center of politics for a long time. While being the Railway Minister from 2004 to 2009, he presented his tenure as an example of ‘turnaround’. Today, even though he is away from power, health is weak and surrounded by cases, but the magic of his popularity is not over yet. Perhaps this is the reason why traditions like cutting cake with sword on his birthday become a celebration for his supporters and a new issue for opponents. The cake was of course sweet on Lalu’s 78th birthday, but its echo in politics was heard quite sharp.
