Land 'scam' in lieu of job: The court summoned former Railway Minister Lalu Prasad, his son, daughter

A Delhi court on Tuesday summoned former Union Railway Minister Lalu Prasad in connection with the land “scam” in lieu of job. Special Judge Vishal Gogane also summoned Prasad’s son and former Bihar minister Tej Pratap Yadav and daughter Hema Yadav.

The judge issued a new summons to Tejashwi Yadav, the younger son of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) supremo and former vice -president of Bihar.

The accused have been directed to appear in court on March 11.

The case is related to the group ‘D’ appointments held in the west Central Division of Indian Railways located in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh. According to officials, these appointments were made in exchange for transferring the plot to the family or associates of RJD supremo between 2004 and 2009 during Prasad’s tenure as Union Railway Minister.

A case was registered against Prasad, his wife, two daughters, unknown government officials and other people, including others, on 18 May 2022.
