Varanasi, 29 March (IANS). Lawyers protested in Varanasi on Saturday after the central government’s approval of the Delhi High Court Justice Yashwant Verma’s transfer to Allahabad High Court.
Varanasi Central Bar President Manglesh Dubey said that the Supreme Court had an opportunity, showing that he had a policy of zero tolerance against corruption. However, this was not seen in the case of Justice Yashwant Verma. Instead of taking a stand, the Supreme Court remained adamant on its decision and the Allahabad High Court was transferred to Justice Yashwant Verma of Delhi High Court. The rights of lawyers were taken away in the democratic system. He said that we are agitating against corruption and hence will not work today. During this time, lawyers in Varanasi court also raised fierce slogans against Justice Yashwant Verma.
Let us know that after the house of Justice Yashwant Verma of Delhi High Court, the house of the Supreme Court recommended the Allahabad High Court to be transferred by the Supreme Court after the alleged bundles of notes were allegedly received. The central government on Friday approved this recommendation. After the government’s approval, Justice Yashwant Verma has been asked to take over in the Allahabad High Court.
The Department of Justice (Appointment Division) of the Ministry of Law and Justice issued a notification informing this. According to the notification, “After consultation with the Chief Justice of India, the President has decided to appoint Justice Yashwant Verma of the Delhi High Court as a judge of the Allahabad High Court. The President has directed him to take over in Allahabad High Court.”
Speaking to IANS, Anil Tiwari, President and Senior Advocate of Allahabad High Court Bar Association, said that a meeting of all old officials of the Executive and Bar Association has been called on Saturday. Further strategy will be discussed in this meeting.
