Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has released the list of candidates for the upcoming assembly by-elections in Uttar Pradesh. There are names of seven candidates in this list. BJP has given ticket to Anujesh Yadav against Lalu Yadav’s son-in-law and Akhilesh Yadav’s nephew Tej Pratap Yadav on Karhal seat. BJP has not announced candidates for Sismau and Meerapur seats of Kanpur.

By-elections are to be held in nine assembly seats Karhal (Mainpuri), Sisamau (Kanpur), Katehari (Ambedkarnagar), Kundarki (Moradabad), Khair (Aligarh), Ghaziabad, Phulpur (Prayagraj), Majhwa (Mirzapur) and Mirapur (Muzaffarnagar) in UP. . Sisamau seat has become vacant due to the conviction of SP MLA Irfan Solanki while 9 MLAs have become Lok Sabha members.
