Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday greeted Mahavir Jayanti and said that Lord Mahavir’s ideals give strength to innumerable people all over the world.
PM Modi wrote on X, “We all salute Lord Mahavira, who always emphasized non -violence, truth and compassion. His ideal gives strength to innumerable people all over the world. His teachings have been beautifully preserved and popular by the Jain community. Inspired by Lord Mahavira, he has gained excellence in various fields of life and contributed to social welfare.”
He further said that the central government will always work to fulfill the dream of Lord Mahavira. He said, “Last year we gave Prakrit the status of classical language, this decision was highly appreciated.”
Meanwhile, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that the messages given by Lord Mahavira will continue to guide the human society.
Shah wrote on X, “Happy Lord Mahavir Jayanti to all the countrymen. The messages of truth, non -violence, compassion and social harmony given by Lord Mahavir ji will continue to guide the human society for eternity. I pray to Lord Mahavira ji for the welfare of everyone.”
Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said that the ideal people of Lord Mahavira will continue to motivate people to build just, peaceful and inclusive society.
Singh wrote on X, “On the auspicious occasion of Mahavir Jayanti, I bow to Lord Mahavira and remember his eternal message of non -violence, truth and compassion. His ideals will inspire us to build a just, peaceful and inclusive society.
Union Minister and BJP President JP Nadda said that the divine teachings and great ideas of Lord Mahavir will always be relevant to non -violent society.
Nadda tweeted, “The eternal symbol of sacrifice, penance and peace, I wish my heartfelt greetings on the birth anniversary of the 24th Jain Tirthankara Lord Mahavira. Their works are immortal for the establishment of non-violence, truth, celibacy and aparigraha in the society. They will continue to show the path of humanity’s welfare to the whole world for ages. Life is the life of God Maharavi Ji. His divine teachings and great thoughts will always be relevant for non -violent society. “
Mahavir Jayanti is celebrated to commemorate the birthday of Lord Mahavira, who was born in a royal family 615 BC and was named ‘Vardhman’ in childhood. According to Mahavir Samvat, it will be celebrated on 10 April.
