New Delhi, September 22 (IANS) Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the Indian community in New York on Sunday, the second day of his three-day US visit. Addressing the Indian community at the ‘Modi and America’ event held in Long Island, PM Modi claimed that in the coming days you will see Made in India chips in America as well.
PM Modi said that in June last year, India had announced incentives for the semi-conductor sector. A few months later, the foundation stone of Micron’s first semi-conductor unit was laid. So far, five such units have been approved in India. The day is not far when you will see Made in India chips in America as well. This small chip will take the flight of developed India to new heights and this is Modi’s guarantee.
Referring to the Paris Olympics, Prime Minister Modi said that the Paris Olympics have just ended a few days ago. Soon you will witness the Olympics in India. We are making every possible effort to host the Olympics.
He said that in the last 10 years, one university has been built every week and two new colleges every day. A new ITI has been established every day. The number of medical colleges has almost doubled in 10 years. Till now the world has seen the power of Indian designers, now the world will see the magic of ‘Design in India’.
At the end of his address, Prime Minister Modi said that your event has been really great. The cultural programs held here were amazing. I came to know that thousands of people wanted to come here, but there was not enough space. I apologize to those who could not come here, I will meet them later. Some other day, at some other place. The enthusiasm will be the same.
