Ratlam, Aug 29 (IANS) By now you must have heard children saying yes sir during attendance in schools, which is considered a symbol of the fact that a particular student is present in the class. Earlier this practice was only in private schools, but now it is seen on a large scale in government schools as well.
But the Madhya Pradesh government has decided to change this tradition. Actually, the state government has issued an order to the children to say Jai Hind instead of Yes Sir during attendance. Giving the reason behind this step, it has been said that this will increase the feeling of patriotism among the children. Minister Vijay Shah has also issued a statement in this regard.
He said, “We have issued an order in this regard. Children will have to say Jai Hind instead of Yes Sir while marking their attendance. Apart from this, flag salutation will be done every day in schools. We will take every step towards implementing it so that the feeling of patriotism can be instilled in children.”
He said this after meeting officials at the Circuit House. He stressed that we have to develop the feeling of patriotism in our coming generations. For which we have to take this step.
While discussing with the departmental officers, Minister Shah directed Collector Rajesh Batham to identify land for a new airstrip in an area of 20 km from the city and prepare a proposal to make Ratlam a division.
Talking to journalists, Minister Shah said that he will discuss the proposal of the division and the airstrip with the Chief Minister and get it approved. Due to the coming up of the expressway and investment area, the airstrip is necessary for the operation of big aircraft.
Along with the Namkeen cluster in Ratlam, a big commercial centre will also be developed. The area under year-round irrigation will be increased in the district. Currently, only 10 percent of the area is irrigated throughout the year. This will also stop migration.
