Mahakumbh 2025: Yogi government running campaign with pledge of cleanliness and environment protection

Prayagraj, 28 November (IANS). Mahakumbh-2025, going to be organized in Prayagraj, is not only a festival of spirituality and faith, but it is also a cultural and social experience for millions of devotees. This time a unique initiative is being taken to make the Mahakumbh clean and environment friendly, under this a pledge has been taken to have a plastic free Mahakumbh.

The aim of this campaign is to provide a clean environment to the devotees and completely ban the use of plastic. For this, many steps are being taken along with departmental coordination on the instructions of CM Yogi. Efforts are being made to provide a clean and plastic free environment to the devotees coming to Mahakumbh.

For this, eco-friendly options are being promoted by allotting shops to street vendors. Soon the allotment process will be completed, after which the fair area will be completely plastic free and only Dona and Pattal will be sold here.

At the same time, a special meeting on cleanliness has been organized with the principals of 400 schools. Work is being done to increase awareness of plastic-free Mahakumbh by making students messengers of cleanliness. Apart from this, a target has been set to reach the initiative of clean and environment friendly Mahakumbh to 4 lakh children and five times the citizens of Prayagraj.

Apart from this, more than 1,500 Ganga Sevadoots are being deployed, who will conduct cleanliness drives in the fair and motivate the devotees to avoid the use of plastic. Their training has started and there are plans to increase their numbers as per the need.

‘Har Ghar Dastak’ campaign is being run to spread awareness about plastic-free Mahakumbh, so that every person can participate in this initiative. Along with this, the message of Plastic Free Mahakumbh is being given in all the convenience slips, so that the devotees remain aware and do not use plastic.

All the institutions and vendors deployed in Mahakumbh have been given strict instructions to follow the rules of plastic-free Mahakumbh. A warning has also been given that action will be taken against them in case of violation.

On the other hand, many organizations have also pledged to have a plastic-free Mahakumbh and they are also playing a helpful role in this campaign in the fair area. Through this initiative, Mahakumbh will not only be made clean, but it will also become a perfect example of environmental protection. Devotees will also participate in the campaign to save the environment with cleanliness and faith in this Mahakumbh.
