Prayagraj, 29 January (IANS). Preparations for Mauni Amavasya, the biggest bathing festival of Mahakumbh, have almost been completed. The number of devotees in the entire fair is increasing continuously, keeping in mind that Prayagraj Railway Division has prepared a plan to run more than 150 fair special trains for crores of devotees on Wednesday.
Senior Public Relations Officer of North Central Railway Amit Malviya said on Tuesday that North Central Railway, Northern Railway and North Eastern Railway have made arrangements to run trains from their respective stations. During this time, more than 150 trains have been targeted to run and more trains will be run when needed so that more and more passengers can be safely and quickly transported to their destination.
He informed that trains will be available from Jhusi, Rambagh, Fafamau, Prayag Junction instead of Prayagraj Junction for Ayodhya-Varanasi. In addition, the Railways has appealed to the devotees not to sleep nor lay on the platform, so that any untoward untoward can be avoided. Some trains have also been canceled on the day of Mauni Amavasya. Also, preparations have also been made to operate eight thousand buses in collaboration with the state government.
According to Prayagraj Railway Division, about 3.5 crore devotees took a bath in Sangam on the day of Makar Sankranti, for which 101 fair special trains were run. The Mela Authority estimates that more than 10 crore devotees will bathe on the day of Mauni Amavasya. Railways informed that more than 150 fair special trains will be run on the day of Mauni Amavasya, out of which most trains will run from Prayagraj Junction. Apart from this, Directors Special trains will also be operated from other divisional stations.
The official further said that it would be a record in itself to operate more than 150 special trains in a day. It is estimated that the operation of regular and special trains will leave a new train every four minutes on the day of Mauni Amavasya, so that there is no inconvenience to the devotees.
