Maharashtra Election : Although the assembly elections in Maharashtra have not been formally announced, political parties seem to be in an election mood. The Maha Vikas Aghadi alliance has started brainstorming on the seat sharing for the upcoming elections. A meeting was held between the Congress, NCP and Shiv Sena (Uddhav Thackeray faction) involved in the alliance, in which an agreement has been reached on about 130 seats, although consensus has not been reached on some seats yet. At the same time, the Bharatiya Janata Party has intensified preparations for the elections and has also assigned responsibilities to 13 big leaders.
For the Maharashtra elections, the top leaders of the political parties involved in the Mahavikas Aghadi (Congress, Shiv Sena Uddhav Thackeray faction and Nationalist Congress Party Sharad Pawar faction) are continuously holding meetings regarding seat sharing. Sources said that in the meeting of top leaders, consensus has been reached on about 130 seats and discussions on 24 other seats are also in the final stages. A formula is being worked out to exchange these seats with each other party.
Is this why there is a problem regarding these seats?
The seats on which Mahavikas Aghadi is in a dilemma include Marathwada, Vidarbha, Konkan and Mumbai. Sources are telling that the seats of these regions will be decided in the next round of meeting, however before that efforts are being made to understand the political situation at the local level. The three parties involved in the alliance are also getting surveys done by different agencies, after the survey report comes, the dispute over the disputed seats will be resolved. In fact, Mahavikas Aghadi alliance does not want to leave any stone unturned regarding the assembly elections. The leaders of the alliance are brainstorming and holding meetings after meetings to return to power.
The term of the government will end in November
Let us tell you that there is a government of Bharatiya Janata Party and Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) in Maharashtra. The term of the government is ending in November 2024. In such a situation, it is believed that elections can be held here in October. Earlier elections were held in 2019, Bharatiya Janata Party emerged as the largest party with 105 seats. Elections are to be held on a total of 288 seats of the Legislative Assembly here.
