two alliances face to face
There is a contest between two alliances in Maharashtra. After the 2019 assembly elections in the state, Congress, Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena, Sharad Pawar’s NCP together formed Mahavikas Aghadi. This time the contest in the elections will be seen between two alliances instead of parties. The ruling Mahayuti and Mahavikas Aghadi will face each other in the assembly elections. Let us tell you that the Mahayuti alliance includes BJP, Eknath Shinde led Shiv Sena and Ajit Pawar led NCP. This election is not easy for any alliance. While the Mahayuti is making a bid to come back to power, the opposition Alliance (India) would like to repeat its performance in the Lok Sabha elections in Maharashtra, in which it had an edge over the Mahayuti.
Voting is to be held on 20th November
Voting will be held on November 20 for a total of 288 assembly seats in Maharashtra. The results of the assembly elections will be declared on November 23. In the 2019 assembly elections, BJP got 105 seats, Shiv Sena 56, NCP 54 and Congress 44. However, after the elections, Shiv Sena separated from the NDA and formed the government in the state with the NCP-Congress. Shiv Sena’s Uddhav Thackeray became the Chief Minister. After that, in June 2022, there was internal discord in Shiv Sena. After this, Eknath Shinde defeated 40 MLAs of the party and Shinde became the new Chief Minister of the state with the support of BJP. Now Shiv Sena is divided into two groups. At the same time, Sharad Pawar’s NCP has also divided into two factions – Sharad Pawar and Ajit Pawar. This time the competition here is going to be very interesting. Now it has to be seen who the public trusts. This will be known only after the counting of votes on November 23.
