After the crushing defeat in Maharashtra elections, everything is not going well in MVA. While Congress state president Nana Patole has resigned from his post, Shiv Sena (UBT) has now blamed Congress for its defeat.
Congress’s overconfidence drowned
UBT leader Ambadas Danve criticized the Congress, saying its ‘overconfidence’ has harmed the performance of the Maha Vikas Aghadi in the Maharashtra Assembly elections. Addressing a press conference in Mumbai, Danve said that after the Lok Sabha elections, the Congress was very confident wherever it contested.
Congress’s hard work was seen in the Lok Sabha elections
He said that it is true that Congress was overconfident. Wherever elections were held after the Lok Sabha elections – be it Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir or Maharashtra, his overconfidence was clearly visible. During the Lok Sabha elections, Rahul Gandhi and Congress worked hard and India Bloc also saw results, but this time they were overconfident.
Reasons for defeat in elections
The Shiv Sena (UBT) leader also said that Maha Vikas Aghadi was involved in seat sharing talks till the last day. Ambassador Danve said that we remained engaged in the discussion on seat sharing till the last day, whereas those days should have been spent in talking to the people.
Some seats should have been given to Shiv Sena, but Congress was not ready to accept. Congress behaved as if only the swearing-in ceremony of the Chief Minister mattered to them.
Uddhav should have been made the CM face
Danve further said that if Uddhav Thackeray’s name had been proposed as Chief Minister, the results would have been different. He said that Uddhav Thackeray’s name should have been put forward for the post of Chief Minister. If he had been presented as the CM candidate from the beginning, the results could have changed a lot.
