Maharashtra Politics: After the big victory of the ruling Mahayuti in the Maharashtra Assembly elections, these days the politics of Maharashtra is heated regarding the post of CM. Meanwhile, Eknath Shinde, leader of Shinde faction of Shiv Sena, has announced that he will accept the decision of the BJP high command regarding the post of Chief Minister. He said that whatever decision will be taken by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah as the new Chief Minister of Maharashtra, he will accept that decision.
After Shinde made his stand clear regarding the post of CM, now there is talk of his joining the Modi cabinet. However, Shinde does not want to leave Maharashtra politics and go to the Centre. Shinde has also indicated this during Wednesday’s press conference. In fact, Shinde, who has been active in the political field for a long time, is considered an expert player of politics and as a well-thought-out strategy, he does not want to stay away from Maharashtra politics.
Shinde gave a clear indication
After Shinde distanced himself from the post of Chief Minister, a discussion is being heard loudly in the political circles of Maharashtra. According to this discussion, Shinde can get an important ministry in the Modi government at the Center and his son Shrikant Shinde can be made the Deputy CM of Maharashtra. Even though such speculations are being made in Maharashtra, the truth is that Shinde does not want to stay away from the politics of Maharashtra.
During Wednesday’s press conference, when Shinde was asked a question by the media regarding going to Delhi, Shinde’s answer was that brother, why do you want to send me to Delhi? It is clear from Shinde’s answer that he does not want to leave Maharashtra and do central politics. They want to remain in Maharashtra only.
Challenge to make our party strong and united
Informed sources associated with Shinde’s party say that despite not getting the post of Chief Minister, Shinde will continue his active role in Maharashtra politics in the coming days. This time in the assembly elections, Shinde’s party has won 57 seats and Shinde now wants to keep his party completely strong and united. However, without the Chief Minister’s chair, it will not be an easy task for Shinde to strengthen the party.
Shinde’s eyes on BMC elections
The biggest reason behind Shinde’s desire not to move away from the princely state of Maharashtra is that civic elections are going to be held in the state soon. During the civic elections, Shinde will face a big challenge to strengthen his party and win the elections among as many people as possible. Shinde’s eyes are mainly on BMC elections. BMC has been dominated by Shiv Sena for a long time and during this election, Shinde once again wants to defeat Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena.
BMC has been considered the richest municipal corporation in the country. Elections of Mumbai Municipal Corporation, which has a budget of about Rs 60 thousand crores, have not been held for three years. Administrators are running BMC since February 2022. BMC elections are likely soon. It is believed that steps will be taken in this direction after the formation of the new government. In such a situation, Shinde wants to show his strength in BMC elections also.
