Maharashtra Politics: Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has launched a scathing attack on the Vijay rally of Thackeray brothers held in Mumbai today. Shiv Sena (Uddhav faction) chief Uddhav Thackeray and MNS chief Raj Thackeray appeared on the same stage after nearly 20 years and targeted the BJP fiercely. But this victory rally was described by Fadnavis as a Rudali Sabha.
Fadnavis, taking a sarcasm, said, “I thank Raj Thackeray that he credited me for bringing me the Thackeray brothers together.” This is like getting the blessings of Balasaheb Thackeray for me. But this rally was not a Marathi festival, but was a Rudali Sabha of the pain of being out of power. He said that Marathi language or culture was not even named in speeches, only the hunger and sorrow of power were demonstrated.
Raj Thackeray tightened Fadnavis
Raj Thackeray had satirized and said, Fadnavis did the work that Balasaheb Thackeray could not do, united the two brothers. On this statement, Fadnavis retorted and questioned Uddhav Thackeray that if he had done something by doing BMC for 25 years, then this situation would not have happened today.
Fadnavis said, “When we started the work of giving new identity to Mumbai under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he remembered the Marathi people. We have given better houses to Marathi families in areas like BDD Chawl, Patra Chawl and Abhyudaya Nagar at the same place. The same thing is piercing them today.
Politics is being done fiercely for BMC elections
The entire rally is being seen in the backdrop of the upcoming BMC elections, where once again Marathi Asmita vs Hindutva debate is raising heads. Fadnavis bluntly said, we are Marathi, we are proud of Marathi language. But we are also Hindus and Hindutva is equally proud. BJP’s Hindutva is going to take everyone along.
Shinde faction also retaliated
Shinde faction spokesperson Manisha Kayande also questioned the sharing of this platform and said, “One time Uddhav, who made Raj Thackeray homeless, is sharing the stage with his support today.” Both had different body language on stage. Raj was focused on the Marathi issue, while Uddhav Modi, Shah and Shinde were seen attacked. This is a combination of compulsion, not the principles.
