The Mumbai Police has arrested two people from Buldhana district of Maharashtra in connection with the email threatening to blow up the car of Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. Officials gave this information on Friday.
Officials said that both have been identified as Mangesh Vicle (35) and Abhay Shingane (22). Both are residents of Deulgaon Mahi area of Deulgaon Raja in the district.
According to an official, the e-mail threatening to bomb Shinde’s car was found to Goregaon and JJ Marg police stations in the metropolis on Thursday, after which the investigation of the case was started.
An FIR was lodged against an unknown person at Goregaon Police Station for making a statement for public mischief against an unidentified person (BNS) Section 351 (3) – criminal intimidation and 353 (2).
He said that the Mumbai Crime Branch also started an investigation and used technical analysis to find out the mail sender.
He said that a team of the crime branch reached Buldhana and with the help of local police, two people were arrested on suspicion of being involved in the crime. The official said that both are being brought to Mumbai and the investigation is on.
