What is the whole matter?
Anti Corruption Branch (ACB) has registered a case against former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia and former Minister Satyendra Jain in the Delhi government on serious allegations of corruption. It is alleged that during the Aam Aadmi Party government, there was a scam of about Rs 2,000 crore in the construction of about 12,748 school classes. The complainants include BJP leaders Harish Khurana, MLAs Kapil Mishra and Neelkanth Bakshi. They say that the classes where about 5 lakh rupees per class were to be spent, Rs 24.86 lakh per class expense was shown.
In the year 2015-16, the Delhi government started a large project of class construction in schools. According to government approval, the project was to be completed at the fixed cost by June 2016, but no work was completed on time. The construction made semi-pranant structure (SPS), which is 30 years old, but expenses were as per paved buildings (RCC), which last 75 years. The technical report of the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) stated that the cost of SPS classes remained almost equal to paved buildings and no economic benefits were made.
