Maharashtra minister Uday Samant on Friday claimed that several leaders of the opposition Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) are in touch with the Shiv Sena and will be included in the party in a phased manner.
Samanta told reporters that the public has understood that the party led by Deputy Chief Minister Ekant Shinde is the real Shiv Sena, which is carrying forward the principles of the founder Bal Thackeray. He said, “The public has understood that Shinde’s leadership is better than Shiv Sena (Ubatha). His leadership is good and sensitive, which is why so many people are in touch. ”
The minister said that many people are contacting the party and it is certain that they will join the Shiv Sena in a phased manner. Samanta said, “If a mission is to be started, it is not done openly. Given the work done by Shinde, there is no need to implement any mission here.
Shinde had rebelled against the then Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray in 2022, after which the Shiv Sena split into two factions and the government of Maha Vikas Aghadi fell.
The Shinde faction received the election symbol of Shiv Sena and Dhanush-arrow, while the Thackeray faction was named Shiv Sena (Ubatha) whose election symbol is a torch.
The Shiv Sena is part of the ruling Mahayuti alliance including the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), while the Shiv Sena (Ubatha) is the constituent of the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi.
