Ambedkar Controversy:The political stir in Rajya Sabha regarding the statement given by Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Bhimrao Ambedkar is not showing any signs of stopping. Congress and BJP are accusing each other on this issue. Meanwhile, former Chief Minister and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) President Mayawati has issued a statement terming Congress and BJP as ‘chatte-batta’ of the same plate.
Mayawati wrote on social media platform The haste regarding this is pure deception and selfish politics. In doing politics of self-interest in the votes of Baba Saheb’s followers by taking the name of Baba Saheb, parties like Congress and BJP are equal in the same bag and to stop the caravan of Baba Saheb’s self-respect from moving forward, all the parties are trying to hurt BSP. Are engaged in conspiracy. In fact, the great saints, gurus and great men born in the Bahujan community including Baba Saheb could get full respect only in the BSP government, which these casteist parties could not digest. Especially SP even changed the names of new districts, new institutions and public interest schemes etc. out of hatred.

BSP will hold nationwide demonstration on 24th December
Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati has announced protests across the country on December 24. Mayawati has written a post on X in which she said, Baba Saheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, the author of the real book in the form of an ultra-humanistic and welfare constitution for the self-respect and human rights of the Dalits, deprived and other neglected people of the country, is like God. He is highly revered. The disrespect shown to them by Amit Shah hurts the hearts of the people.
Due to the words spoken by him in the Parliament regarding such a great man, people of all sections of the country are very upset, angry and agitated. In this sequence, Ambedkarite BSP has demanded him to withdraw his statement and repent, which is still not being implemented. In such a situation, if the demands are not met then BSP talked about raising its voice in the entire country. That is why now the party has decided to organize a nationwide movement on 24 December 2024 in support of this demand. On that day, completely peaceful protests will be held at all the district headquarters of the country.
