Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati has freed her ‘successor’, party’s national coordinator and nephew Akash Anand from all the party’s responsibilities.
Earlier, the BSP had expelled Akash’s father -in -law Ashok Siddharth due to anti -party activities.
Mayawati said in a statement issued after the BSP’s national level meeting held in the capital Lucknow here, “Akash Anand has been separated from all the responsibilities of the party in the interest of the party and the movement, for which not the party but his father -in -law Ashok Siddharth is responsible.”
The BSP accused Siddharth that he has also ‘spoiled’ Akash Anand’s political career.
Mayawati had earlier declared Akash her successor. But he removed Akash after making a controversial statement during the Lok Sabha elections held last year. Mayawati later declared her her successor again.
According to the statement, Mayawati has given the responsibility of party coordinator to the party’s national vice president and youngest brother Anand Kumar. Apart from this, Ramji has also announced to make Gautam the national coordinator of the party.
