Mayawati is busy strengthening the organization for the core vote

Lucknow, September 18 (IANS). After getting out on zero in the Lok Sabha elections, BSP has now decided to stand through by-elections. Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati is once again busy activating her team to handle her cadre vote.

In this sequence, she will prepare a strategy for the by-elections by holding a meeting with the officials of the entire state on September 19. According to the information received from the party forum, officials from divisional to district level have been called in the meeting. Mayawati will review the strengthening of the organization up to the booth level in the meeting to be held at the party headquarters, along with this she will also examine the preparations for the by-elections of 10 assembly seats.

Party’s state president Vishwanath Pal said that party supremo Mayawati has called a meeting of state officials on September 19. The party’s agenda and strategy will be known in the meeting itself.

Political experts say that after the results of the Lok Sabha elections, Mayawati is constantly holding meetings and focusing on strengthening the organization. Her special focus is on Uttar Pradesh. She knows that if the result of the by-election comes in favor of her party, then it will be oxygen for her in 2027. That is why she is personally monitoring the organizational activities.

All the district presidents, divisional coordinators along with sector in-charges and heads of BAMCEF have been asked to be present in the meeting to be held in Lucknow on September 19. Senior political analyst Virendra Singh Rawat says that the condition of BSP, which came to power with an absolute majority in the 2007 assembly elections, became very bad in the 18th Lok Sabha elections. Not only did the party’s vote percentage fall, but its vote bank also slipped.

He said that BSP contested the elections on its own in 2014 and 2024. If we look at the votes received in both the elections, then the situation of Dalit vote shift is becoming clear. If we look at the election figures, they had 19.77 percent vote percentage in 2014. Whereas in 2024, 9.39 percent vote percentage remained. BSP did not get a single seat in both the elections. But in 2019, the party retained 19.43 percent vote percentage by getting 10 seats in the alliance.

He said that Mayawati feels that by raising the issue of reservation, the Dalit vote bank can be brought back to her side. That is why she is continuously engaged in this exercise. She is also preparing for the by-elections with full vigor. The results will tell how successful she is in saving her vote bank.
