Raipur, September 14 (IANS) On National English Day on Saturday, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai announced that MBBS courses will be taught in English. He also said that he would soon consider teaching engineering and other subjects in English.
CM Sai said in a press conference held here, “Today our government is taking a big decision. Celebrating English Day will be meaningful only when we implement English at every level of education, work in English. Our government has decided to make arrangements for MBBS studies in English.”
In response to a question from journalists, he said, “Right now I have only studied medicine in English. In the future, many other subjects including engineering will also be considered.”
Also, on the question of the state not getting money for PM Shri Yojana and other central schemes, he said that 211 schools of the state have been included in PM Shri Yojana. These schools also include primary and secondary high schools. The money will come in some time.
On the question of doctors writing prescriptions in English to patients after studying medicine in English, he said that in future doctors will start writing prescriptions in English. When we are giving so much importance to English, then doctors should definitely write prescriptions in English.
On the question of experts in English, he said that the syllabus of English has started in the state, experts will also come. Apart from this, on the opening of Atmanand School by former Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, he said that the former Chief Minister opened the Atmanand School, but he has not been able to fulfill the objective.
