ईरान और बेलारूस के शीर्ष सुरक्षा अधिकारियों की बैठक, द्विपक्षीय रिश्तों को मजबूत बनाने पर जोर

Tehran, Sep 14 (IANS) Top security officials of Iran and Belarus attended a crucial meeting to boost bilateral ties. Both sides stressed on strengthening political, security and economic ties, Iran’s official news agency IRNA reported.

During a meeting in the Belarusian capital Minsk on Friday, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Ali Akbar Ahmadian and State Secretary of the Security Council of Belarus Alexander Volfovich called for enhancing cooperation in the industrial, mining and trade sectors, news agency Xinhua reported, citing IRNA.

Local media reports show that the two sides stressed enhancing bilateral ties in strategic areas, promoting cooperation between Tehran and Minsk in international arenas, including groupings such as the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) and BRICS.

Ahmadian underlined the similar approach of the two countries towards advancing multilateralism in the international system. He said the SCO, BRICS and similar organisations are the harbingers of a new world order.

The Iranian official stressed the need for expanded cooperation among independent countries to counter the West’s unilateral policies. He said some Western countries use sanctions to harm other countries.

Volfovich agreed with Ahmadian on promoting multilateralism, saying that Minsk and Tehran have similar views and are taking concrete steps in this direction. He added that Belarus’ position on regional and international issues coincides with Iran’s, and both countries have similar assessments of conflicts.

The Belarusian official noted Belarus’ principled policy of promoting peace in the region and avoiding warlike sentiment. He cited the Russia-Ukraine conflict and the war in Gaza as the most important global conflicts.

Wolfowicz accuses the United States and its allies of trying to maintain the current world order, which he believes exacerbates these conflicts.
