Milkipur by-election: It has been decided to postpone the by-election for Milkipur assembly seat in Uttar Pradesh. Lucknow High Court has now decided to hear the petition related to Milkipur Assembly after November 2. With this, it has now been decided that voting will not be held in Milkipur assembly constituency along with nine other seats on November 13. Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav and other party leaders are already attacking BJP on this issue.
Opposition to withdrawal of petition in High Court
A hearing regarding Milkipur assembly seat was held in Lucknow High Court on Thursday. During this, BJP leader Baba Gorakhnath’s lawyer Sandeep Yadav appealed to withdraw the petition. On the other hand, the lawyer of SP MP from Faizabad Awadhesh Prasad opposed it. He said that notice should be sent to all the six candidates in this matter. He argued that the matter should be heard only after hearing all the parties.
This case was heard in the bench of Justice Pankaj Bhatia in Lucknow High Court. Justice Bhatia, after hearing the arguments of both the parties, directed to issue notice to all the parties and publish the gazette in the newspaper. Now this case will be heard after November 2.
Now by-election in Milkipur decided to be postponed
After this instruction of the High Court, it has been decided to postpone the by-election on Milkipur assembly seat. Regarding this matter, petitioner Baba Gorakhnath alleged that SP does not want by-elections to be held on Milkipur assembly seat. That is why SP is opposing the withdrawal of the petition. He said that independent candidate Shivmurat had also filed a petition in this matter. He had also taken Shivmurat along with him to withdraw the petition.
By-elections on 9 seats except Milkipur
The Election Commission on Tuesday had announced the schedule of by-elections for 9 assembly seats in the state. By-election was not declared for Milkipur seat as the matter was pending in the High Court. Only after this, BJP leader Baba Gorakhnath had announced withdrawal of the petition. Baba Gorakhnath said that he wants by-elections to be held in Milkipur along with nine other seats. BJP is certain to win this seat.
Akhilesh Yadav had targeted
Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav had taken a dig at the non-announcement of by-election in Milkipur assembly constituency. He said that the one who has avoided the war, he has lost the war. Although Akhilesh Yadav did not mention Milkipur or BJP in his post on X, his reference was clearly in this direction.
SP MP claimed big victory
On the other hand, SP MP and Awadhesh Prasad, who won the last election from Milkipur seat, says that the BJP leader should have withdrawn this petition earlier. I had resigned from the Assembly on June 12 itself but they did not do anything during four months. Now there is talk of withdrawing the petition. SP has given ticket to Awadhesh Prasad’s son on this seat and Awadhesh Prasad claimed that his son will win this seat with huge votes. Even BJP’s security deposit will not be saved.
