The Congress on Friday alleged that the Narendra Modi government has completely destroyed the Indian economy but is living in the fictional world regarding the state of the economy.
Party General Secretary Jairam Ramesh made the allegation when former Congress President Rahul Gandhi claimed that the economy had been ruined a day earlier. Ramesh posted on ‘X’, “In the last decade, the five tremors given by the Modi government have completely destroyed the Indian economy. No one else can be held responsible for this. ”
He said, demonetisation completely disrupted our development pace and destroyed the livelihood of crores of Indian citizens. Ramesh also claimed that a fundamentally faulty GST has wreaked havoc on thousands of commercial enterprises across the country, except those big companies who can bear the cost related to GST compliance.
According to him, millions of MSMEs have been closed across the country due to record imports from China, about one -third of the stainless steel industry in Gujarat alone has stopped operating. He said, private investment has lost the fast shown during 2004-14.
Indian industrialists are constantly taking citizenship of other countries in increasing proportion. The increasing influence of the guerrillas and modani, which inspired and recover from politics, has reduced confidence in the Indian economy. The Congress leader says, in the last decade, most Indian citizens in all regions and classes have been stable. This is particularly true in rural India. Domestic savings have declined rapidly, just as domestic debts have increased drastically.
Ramesh claimed that private consumption is weakening, while the consumption of luxury items has come down, which clearly points to growing economic inequalities. He said, the Modi government and its Jayakara troupe are living in a fictional world. They are stinging in accepting the real status of the economy.
