Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge on Thursday accused the BJP -led central government of spreading misinformation about the economy to hide its “big failures”. He claimed that in the last eleven years, the government has systematically weakened every sector of the Indian economy.

In a post on X, Kharge wrote, “The Modi government has made a habit of spreading lies about the economy to hide its gross failures! This disabled government has been destroying every sector of the economy for 11 consecutive years. The truth is here.”
Earlier on Monday, Kharge carried out a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, as the government has completed 11 years of its tenure. The Congress president alleged that the Modi -led government has “ruined” the country and his promise of “good days” has become a “terrible dream”.
He said that the promise of doubling the income of farmers was not fulfilled, so they had to eat rubber bullets, while women safety is currently “in danger”. Mallikarjun Kharge further accused the country’s minorities of atrocities and believed that their participation in the society was over.
Meanwhile, while addressing a press conference at the 10th NITI Aayog Governing Council meeting on the topic ‘Developed India for 2047 developed for 2047’, NITI Aayog CEO Subrahmanyam said that India has become the fourth largest economy in the world to overtake Japan.
Citing data from the International Monetary Fund, the CEO of India’s top think tank said that India’s economy has reached US $ 4 trillion figures.

On Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the pressure of India’s becoming the fourth largest economy in India has increased the pressure on the ladder of top global economies to go up one position. Addressing a public rally in Gandhinagar, the Prime Minister recalled the enthusiasm among the youth of the country when India overtook the United Kingdom that ruled India for more than 200 years and became the fifth largest economy.
