More than 200 false cases were registered against AAP leaders, but not a single rupee was recovered: Atishi's claim

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Atishi on Friday targeted the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government at the Center and Delhi, alleging that political vengeance has been going on for a decade, including registering more than 200 false cases against his party leaders.

His remarks came at a time when former Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi Manish Sisodia appeared before the Anti -Corruption Branch (ACB) on Friday for questioning in the alleged corruption case related to the construction of classes in the Delhi government schools.

Atishi said, “In the last 10 years, BJP’s ED, CBI, IT (Income Tax) and Delhi Police have registered more than 200 false cases against the AAP leaders, but not a single rupee has been recovered till date.”

He described the remarks of the Supreme Court, called the Central Investigation Agencies as a proof of the political misuse of the institutions, during the hearing on the bail of AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal.

AAP leader Satyendra Jain also appeared before the agency on 6 June in connection with the class construction case.

Atishi accused the BJP of adopting a strategy to divert attention to hide its failures on the government front.

The former Chief Minister alleged, “There is a long power cut in the whole of Delhi, there is a shortage of water in the houses and the roads are submerged. But instead of resolving these issues, the BJP is busy running fake cases to mislead the public. ”He alleged that the BJP is connivating the ‘Education Mafia’ to close government schools and promote private institutions.

Atishi said, “They want to close Delhi government schools under the guise of such scams which are not in existence. Corruption does not prove to be proved by headlines. ”

There was no immediate response from the BJP to these allegations of AAP.

Targeting Delhi Chief Minister’s Rekha Gupta, Atishi asked, “Apart from renaming the Mohalla clinics and changing their names, what have he really given to the people of Delhi?”
