New Delhi, Sep 19 (IANS) Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Atishi may take oath as the Chief Minister of Delhi on Saturday.
Before the swearing-in of the Delhi government, the names of the cabinet ministers have also been announced. Sultanpur Majra MLA Mukesh Ahlawat has been given a place in Atishi’s cabinet. He will also take oath as a cabinet minister.
Sultanpur Majra MLA Mukesh Ahlawat has expressed happiness over the party’s decision. Talking to IANS, he said, “I thank Arvind Kejriwal for showing faith in me and I will try to live up to his expectations.”
Mukesh Ahlawat further said, “I will go among the public and ask them whether Arvind Kejriwal has done his work honestly or not. People like our leader Kejriwal, our effort will be that the people of Delhi vote for him again and make Kejriwal the Chief Minister of Delhi next time.”
AAP MLA Mukesh Ahlawat said, “The way I have worked as an MLA, I will continue to work in the same way after getting the responsibility of the ministerial post. If I have got new responsibilities, then I will carry out both of them well.”
AAP’s national convenor Arvind Kejriwal officially resigned from the post of Chief Minister on 17 September (Tuesday). After this, the party proposed Atishi’s name for the post of Chief Minister and she staked claim to form the government before the LG. Atishi will lead the government for the remaining term.
According to a source in the LG secretariat, VK Saxena, in an official note sent to President Draupadi Murmu, has proposed September 21 as the date for Atishi’s swearing-in as Delhi chief minister.
