Jammu, November 8 (IANS). Senior leader of Jammu and Kashmir National Conference Sheikh Bashir Ahmed had a special conversation with IANS on Friday. During this, he reacted to the killing of Village Defense Committee (VDC) by terrorists in the forest area of Kishtwar district.
NC leader Sheikh Bashir Ahmed told IANS, this is a big conspiracy taking place. The situation was like this in Rajouri, Kathua and Doda inside Jammu for 5-6 months. Now VDC people have been murdered. Same thing happened in Basantgarh also. In such a situation, it is a matter of concern.
He said that terrorists keep changing their strategy regarding attacks and we need to remain alert now. There is no doubt that Farooq Abdullah and Omar Abdullah have condemned this attack and we also condemn it. This is very sad news, which I received yesterday.
Terming such attacks as a conspiracy, the NC leader said that such attacks are being carried out to remove the government elected by the people. In such a situation, we have to remain alert and increase security.
Let us inform that on Thursday, terrorists abducted and killed two members of Village Defense Committee (VDC) in the forest area of Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir.
The VDC members killed in the terrorist attack were identified as Nazir Ahmed and Kuldeep Kumar.
An official source had said, “The bodies of the slain VDC members have been recovered and a massive search operation has been launched to trace the killers.”
Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and National Conference (NC) President Farooq Abdullah have condemned the incident.
He said, “Such barbaric violence remains a major obstacle to maintaining long-term peace in Jammu and Kashmir. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of the deceased in this hour of grief.”
